I'm here, alive, and in one healthy piece.

Welcome to the world of sea, mountains, beautiful people, and fabulous food (with a few exceptions). Or welcome to my world of snotty noses, broken sentences, and cute little faces. I'm in my second full day of teaching and wow. I guess I didn't think about the teaching aspect of this deal too much before I left, but it's proving to be a challenge. The kids are so, so, so adorable, and most of them are well behaved. "Most" being the key word. There are a restless few who I think live to defy every word I say. If I didn't love bad children so much, I would probably hate my life. But the truth is, I find it incredibly amusing when children misbehave. My biggest challenge is not laughing when I should be scolding, especially when a child curses at me in Korean. How did I know he was cursing? I didn't until all of the other children gasped and covered their mouths as though the worst word in the Korean language had been used against me. I couldn't help it; I laughed. Area that needs improvement: discipline in the classroom.

I have a number of stories to share and not nearly enough time. I have to be in class in 3 minutes, but I will update again soon... hopefully.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and Happy Birthday to me!

Much love to my friends and family and whoever reads this.
