Happy-ish Halloween

Today is technically Halloween, but yesterday was it for me. And I shall never celebrate it again if I have a choice. We had an enormous Halloween party at our school for the kiddies, and let's just say that I was pretty much ready to shoot myself by the end of the day. I've come to the conclusion that when you put 4 and 5 year-olds in costumes, they are suddenly filled with pure evil and they become irrevocably uncontrollable. Their only redemption yesterday was the fact that they looked super cute all dressed up in their Halloween garb. Unfortunately, I didn't get any photos of the kindergarten students (or myself; I went as a witch--a scary one, apparently, as I made two kids cry) but I did, however, get some pictures of the elementary kids who come to our school in the afternoon. They were by far the worst behaved of the day; repeatedly stealing my witch's hat, stabbing me with their swords, pitchforks, wands, etc. and screaming and running just for the sake of screaming and running. But I know come Monday I'll love them a little bit again... maybe.

You will notice the store tags still attached to the monster's head.
These two were clearly unimpressed by any of our attempts at entertaining them.
And this one was doing an impression of one of our former foreign teachers. The little guy can't be accused of having a poor sense of humor.

In other news, I think a couple of my friends and I are going to attempt making homemade apple cider tomorrow. I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared. I hate wasting food but, most of the time, my cooking experiments leave me with edible yet repulsive results. I will give a full report when we're finished.
